In its most recent Strategic Plan update, adopted last fall, the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization (CPRO) set a goal to expand it’s Board of Directors to “more accurately represent the community we serve and better provide the needed skills and expertise to fulfill our mission.”

In furtherance of this goal, the board welcomed two new members recently: Fikru Abebe, Managing Director of ECDC Enterprise Development Group (EDG), and Michael Klein, Managing Principal of BoundTrain Real Estate.

Fikru Abebe has worked for the Ethiopian Community Development Council’s Enterprise Development Group for nearly 4 years. He is passionate about unlocking economic opportunity, ending poverty and transforming peoples’ lives with strong leadership skills and 15+ years of profound experience in international development in Africa, USA and Canada. CPRO is thrilled to have him join the board of directors and help us reach, and better serve, more communities along the Columbia Pike corridor.

Michael A. Klein is the founder and Managing Principal of BoundTrain, one of the newest firms to invest in Columbia Pike. He has more than 15 years of real estate experience overseeing large investments and acquisitions. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, National Multifamily Housing Council, and NAIOP, where he serves on the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Chapter. His expertise will help guide CPRO as it seeks to encourage smart economic growth for the community.
