CPRO Announces New Name at Anniversary Celebration

(Arlington, VA)   The Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization (CPRO) celebrated its 35th Anniversary last night and shared some important news with its partners and stakeholders in attendance. The organization has a new name: Columbia Pike Partnership.

“After 35 years of dedication to the Columbia Pike community, we felt it was time to update the organization’s name to better reflect the work we do,” says Executive Director Kim Klingler.

That work, as stated in the organization’s mission statement, is to foster a vibrant, safe, connected, and diverse Columbia Pike community and to be the convening body representing the interests of all those who live, work and visit Columbia Pike. Hence the term partnership. The organization convenes partners – citizens, businesses, fellow nonprofit organizations, and Arlington County departments – to accomplish its goals and realize the community’s and organization’s vision of an authentic, exciting, and accessible Columbia Pike community where social, ethnic, and economic diversity is celebrated.

The new name will be the only change to the organization as it will still carry out its current mission and its current slate of programs and events will continue.

“Our Mission, Vision, and Values have not changed. We still strive to create a sense of community through various placemaking programs and initiatives, advocate for the needs of Columbia Pike residents and businesses, and work to keep our community informed and engaged,” says Klingler.

The organization has also released a “Partner Media Kit” that details the name change and provides ways for the public to get involved in the organization and “become a partner.”
